It is written in Luke 14:12-14
« Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid.
But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous. » (NIV, emphasis added)
Once again, this is a slap in the face.
Recently, I attended a group. One attendee has bad habits like:
- being very curious of other people’s life
- interrupting others when they’re not done talking
- in general, not paying attention to others
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?†Jesus replied: “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.â€(Mat 22:36-40, NIV, emphasis added)
Anyway, this year I’m getting involved in a few activities which will give me the opportunity to practice God’s commandments. I’ll keep you updated!
